Direct boosting
When a booster system is connected directly to the water mains it is called direct boosting.
Discharge de-superheater
A discharge de-superheater can be used in a cooling plant to produce domestic hot water. This is possible when there is a simultaneous demand for both cooling and hot domestic water in the building.
Drip tray
A drip tray is used to collect condensation or defrosted water from cooling surfaces when air is cooled to below the dew point, etc.
Dry cooler
A dry cooler is an air-cooled device that is used in connection with removal of excess heat. The cold media, normally water, is circulated through the dry cooler, where heat exchange with the surrounding air heats up the media.
Dry running protection
Dry-running protection is one of the most important monitoring functions, as bearings and shaft seal may be damaged if the booster pumps run dry. It is thus always recommend to install dry-running protection on all booster sets.
DX system
A DX system is a cooling system where the primary coolant is used for evaporation. DX systems are typically used with very small, stand-alone systems, but they can also be used in large industrial cooling systems.
Emergency run
Hydro MPC booster sets and Control MPC systems in pressure boosting applications incorporates an emergency run function designed for important systems where the operation may not be interrupted.
Enthalpy
Enthalpy is a description for an amount of energy, and can be found in reference material for different elements at different temperatures and pressures. Enthalpy is often given as kJ/Kg.
Ethernet connection
The Ethernet connection on CU 351 brings the user interface to any computer. Control and monitoring can be conducted either directly or via Internet.
Evaporation
Evaporation takes place in an evaporator, which is a part of a cooling system. The change of state from liquid to gas of the cooling media flowing through the evaporator is known as evaporation.
